Download and install Templavoila

To use Templavoila, you'll need 2 extensions. Go to the extension repository and download the following extensions:

  • Static info tables (static_info_tables) version 6.x or higher for TYPO3 6.x, version 2.x for TYPO3 4.x.
  • Templavoila (templavoila) version 1.8.0 or higher for TYPO3 6.0 and 6.1, version 1.7.0 for TYPO3 4.x. For TYPO3 6.2 there's an unofficial version 1.9 available here.

Import the extensions

In TYPO3, go to the extension manager (Admin Tools - Extension Manager). When using 6.0 or 6.1, choose "Manage Extensions" to import the extensions manually, or choose "Get Extensions" to import a list from the Extension Repository and import the extensions from there. If you use TYPO3 6.2, you'll have to copy the downloaded files (and their folder) manually to the extensions folder, which is /htmlroot/typo3conf/ext/.

If you use TYPO3 4.5 or 4.6, choose "Extension manager" from the pull down menu on top of the editing window and click on the "Local extension list" tab. Next, click on the "upload extension file directly (.t3x)" icon. You can find this icon above the pull down menu on top of the screen (which says "Extension Manager"). First upload Static info tables and then Templavoila.

Install TYPO3 extension - TYPO3Buddy website tutorial

Install the extensions

As of TYPO3 6.x, installation and updating of the database will happen automatically when an extension is uploaded. In TYPO3 4.x you need to install the extension manually. You can install or uninstall an extension manually by clicking the "install extension" icon (little piece of lego with a plus sign). As might be noticed, some extensions need to make updates to the database. Click on the "Make updates" button. After that, the extension configuration needs to be saved by clicking the "Update" button. Scroll down the popup window if you don't see this button.

Before you start

Remember that the Storage folder must be set as "General storage folder", in the page properties of the root page. Otherwise Templavoila doesn't know where to save it's data.

Nice to know

It is also possible to include an overview of the extension repository into your TYPO3 installation. You have instant access to all available extensions, download, install and update them with a few clicks. As of TYPO3 6.x, this will happen automatically when you select "Get extensions". However, the "cache_extensions" table of your database will be filled with an addtional 12 to 30 MB of data.
