All menus on TYPO3Buddy are HMENU/TMENU menus and will be included and generated with typoscript. For each menu, a typoscript sub template is created on the root page. The menus used by TYPO3Buddy are:

On top of this, we also have some examples of menus with images based menu items, which are generated by TYPO3. That's right; you can configure a typoscript menu that generates a graphical menu. These are content objects of the GMENU and GMENU_LAYERS type. Please note: GMENU and GMENU_LAYERS have been removed from TYPO3 v10.

As you probably may have noticed, the top and side menu of TYPO3Buddy is the same, thus redundant. We chose this setup for educational purposes. The top menu however only shows level 1 submenus, whereas the side menu shows submenu until level 3.

More information on navigation is found in the core documentation on typo3.org, Typoscript reference, chapter Menu objects.

You've worked hard if you've come this far!

After having inserted the menu scripts, you've built an entire TYPO3 website, really fast. Good job! We'd be really grateful if you'd consider a small donation to keep the TYPO3Buddy website up and running. You can do this by clicking the donate button on the right. You'll be part of our contributors' list too! Thanks in advance!

The TYPO3Buddy website is a tutorial to rebuild the TYPO3Buddy website from scratch. You can choose from a TYPO3 Fluid tutorial and a TYPO3 Templavoila tutorial. You'll build TYPO3 websites like you've done so for years!

Kind reminder! This tutorial has been tested with and updated for TYPO3 v10. Please keep in mind that the tutorial has once been set up for TYPO3 v6. It follows some deprecated conventions. If so, this will be mentioned in the tutorial.
